The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, budget control, cash flow management, and supervision of finance personnel to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain and oversee the company’s accounting records and financial transactions. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. • Supervise the Cashier and other accounting staff. • Prepare and monitor company budgets and cash flow forecasts. • Review payment requests, invoices, and supporting documents before approval. • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations and statutory requirements. • Prepare VAT, withholding tax, pension, and other regulatory filings. • Coordinate bank reconciliations and account reconciliations. • Monitor project revenues, costs, and profitability. • Prepare financial reports for management decision-making. • Assist in tender financial documentation and project cost analysis. • Coordinate external audits and respond to auditor inquiries. • Develop and maintain internal financial control systems. • Advise management on financial risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures. • Ensure proper filing and safeguarding of financial documents. • Perform other duties assigned by management. Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience. • Experience in construction, trading, or project-based businesses is preferred. • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. • Professional certification is an advantage.
