Position Title : Assembly Technician Department: Manufacturing and Engineering Type of Employment: Full Time Location: Addis Ababa Reports to: Assembling Supervisor / Senior Assembly Supervisor About Dodai Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 01, 2023. Dodai is a fast growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2026.  Purpose of the Position The Assembly Technician for Dodai will be part of the manufacturing team and will be responsible for the assembly of electric two wheelers (E2W) in an efficient manner. He will be responsible for the construction of the small parts and components that make up the E2W to create a new product according to the specifications provided by the Factory Operations Manager.  Key Responsibilities • Performing complex assembly operations based on engineering drawings and technical documentation. • Perform high precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments. • Leading quality inspection and ensuring that all assemblies meet internal standards and customer expectations. • Documenting and developing improved assembly procedures to enhance production reliability and efficiency. • Overseeing the material flow process to avoid shortages and delays. • Troubleshooting technical and process-related issues to maintain production continuity. • Guiding and mentoring junior team members and ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards. • Develop assembly and test procedures to promote production of quality products. • Monitor the functioning of all equipment and report any problems or substandard conditions to the supervisor. • Ensure all log books are maintained according to standard operating procedures. • Perform equipment assembly according to engineering drawings. • Perform cleaning of all parts as per established cleaning procedures. • Perform pre-assembly activities such as cleaning and lubricating. • Conduct product testing and performance testing and record the results. • Perform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high quality products. • Perform installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required. • Order and stock materials and supplies to avoid materials shortages. • Receive, unload, unpack and transfer materials to different work stations. • Assist supervisor during emergency situations such as fire, natural disasters etc. • Maintain work area clean, safe and orderly • Effectively troubleshoot all assembly related issues. • Carry out any additional tasks or responsibilities as instructed by your supervisor or manager to support operations.   Qualifications & Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related fields or TVET graduate in relevant field • Minimum of 2 years experience for TVET graduates and 1 year experience for University graduates, working in a factory setting with similar products (E2W, E3W etc.) is a MUST • Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment. • Preferably proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. • The ability to multitask. • Outstanding time management skills. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Effective communication skills.
