Centre for Justice (CJ) is one of Ethiopia’s main independent civil society organizations working for systemic and service changes of the Ethiopian Criminal Justice System. Its establishment was spearheaded by individuals who sought to improve things they came across during their incarceration. CJ blends practical interventions and advocacy campaigns to improve the criminal justice system in general and the condition of inmates in Ethiopia in particular. Position 1: Legal Aid Service Provider Intern Required Qualifications: • LL.B Degree in Law (Must be a recent graduate or pending graduation confirmation). • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Human Rights laws. • High level of empathy, patience, and resilience to work within a police station environment. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Willingness to be stationed specifically at Kality or Areda police stations Salary: Negotiable Duty Station: Addis Ababa (Specifically placed at selected police stations: Kality and Areda) Position 2: Projects Intern Required Qualifications: • LL.B Degree in Law (Must be a recent graduate or pending graduation confirmation). • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment at the Head Office.
