This role focuses on transcription, language review, evaluation, data curation, and quality control. Responsibilities include: - Accurate Amharic transcription. - Verbatim and normalized transcription when required. - Reviewing spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. - Evaluating audio and transcript quality. - Identifying pronunciation and meaning errors. - Reviewing names, numbers, abbreviations, dialect variation, and code-switching. - Identifying duplicates, incorrect labels, and data-quality issues. - Reviewing realistic Ethiopian/Amharic conversations. - Following detailed annotation and data-handling guidelines. - Correcting rejected or flagged submissions. Requirements: - 18+ years old. - Native or near-native Amharic speaker. - Excellent Amharic reading and writing skills using the Ethiopic/Geʽez script. - Strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation. - Excellent attention to detail. - Good computer skills. - Ability to consistently follow detailed instructions. - Reliable and responsive to feedback. Experience in transcription, translation, journalism, education, linguistics, proofreading, content moderation, or data annotation is an advantage. A university degree is preferred for senior candidates but is not mandatory. Demonstrated language ability and work quality are more important.
