Reports To General Manager Supervises • Accountants • Cashiers Job Purpose The Finance Head is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all financial activities of the Vertex SACCO. The role ensures sound financial management, regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, budgeting, treasury management, and effective internal controls to support the SACCO's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities · Financial Management: Develop financial strategies, oversee operations, manage cash flow, and monitor financial performance. · Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. · Budgeting and Planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. · Treasury and Investment Management: Manage liquidity, banking, and investments. · Accounting and Internal Controls: Maintain accounting records, reconciliations, and internal controls. · Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws, standards, audits, and statutory reporting. · Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks. · Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate finance staff. · Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations. · Stakeholder Support: Advise management and support strategic decisions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree is an added advantage. Experience 5–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including at least 3 years in management. SACCO or microfinance experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills Peachtree accounting, IFRS, budgeting, treasury, taxation, compliance, internal controls, leadership, analytical skills, accounting software, and Excel.
