Position Summary The Finance Manager is responsible for leading all finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and effective financial planning. The role supervises the Accountant, Finance Officer, Purchase & Inventory Lead (PIL), and Assistant Finance staff while providing financial guidance to management. Key Responsibilities • Lead and supervise the Finance Department and conduct regular finance meetings. • Oversee all financial postings and transactions in Peachtree Accounting Software . • Review and approve journal entries, ledger postings, bank reconciliations, CPVs, PCPVs, payroll, overtime, commissions, and payment requests. • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial reports, including income statements, cash flow, profit analysis, expense reports, bank reports, owners' credit, CAB, CAH, and sales reports. • Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, and cost-saving recommendations. • Monitor customer credit balances, follow up outstanding receivables, and prepare monthly credit reports. • Oversee VAT, Pension, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Profit Tax, Goods in Transit (GIT), and month-end/year-end closing. • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory requirements. • Supervise purchase activities, import cost buildup, inventory management, warehouse reconciliation, and legal documentation handled by the PIL. • Supervise Finance Officer activities, including rent, utilities, vehicle expenses, warehouse and sales reconciliation, deliveries, transfers, receipt issuance, and weekly financial reporting. • Review daily bank balances and bank reconciliations before submission to the General Manager. • Prepare financial clearance for exiting employees. • Maintain finance records and legal files. • Provide financial advice and strategic recommendations to management. • Develop and improve finance policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Mentor and support finance team members to ensure high performance. Qualifications Education • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred). Experience • Minimum of 3-4 years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. • Experience in an import/export company is highly preferred. Technical Skills • Proficiency in Peachtree Accounting Software. • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations. • Experience in import cost buildup, financial reporting, payroll, banking operations, and reconciliations. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
