Job Role: Furniture Carpenter Location: Lebu, Addis Ababa Employment Type: Full-time (Regular Hours) SALARY NET : 11,000 ETB Target Candidate: Male Key Responsibilities Production & Fabrication: Interpret technical drawings, sketches, or blueprints to fabricate high-quality cafe chairs, tables, and benches. Measure, cut, shape, and join wood or composite materials according to precise dimensions. Operate and maintain woodworking machinery (e.g., table saws, planers, jointers, routers, and sanders) safely and efficiently. Perform complex joinery techniques to ensure the durability and stability of furniture intended for high-traffic commercial environments. Quality Control & Craftsmanship: Inspect all finished products for structural integrity, aesthetic quality, and adherence to design specifications. Apply various finishes, such as staining, varnishing, or lacquering, to protect the wood and meet the desired style of the cafe. Troubleshoot production issues and suggest improvements for manufacturing efficiency. Material & Inventory Management: Select high-quality materials (wood types, veneers, hardware) suitable for commercial use. Calculate and track material requirements to minimize waste and ensure cost-effective production. Maintain an organized workshop and ensure that all tools and equipment are kept in good working condition. Operational Standards: Strictly adhere to all workshop safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment. Manage time effectively to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines for cafe projects. Collaborate with team members to streamline production workflows. Recommended Qualifications Experience: Proven experience in furniture making, specifically in commercial or hospitality furniture (cafe/restaurant settings). Technical Skills: Mastery of both hand tools and stationary power tools; ability to read and execute technical blueprints. Precision: Exceptional attention to detail and a strong understanding of measurements and angles. Soft Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong work ethic.
