Statement of the Purpose The position holder will be responsible for managing and oversee the execution of communication initiatives that support the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority's (ECMA) objectives. This role focuses on implementing the strategic communication framework, ensuring the timely and effective dissemination of information internally and externally. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day communications activities, coordinating public relations efforts, and developing content for various media channels to enhance ECMA's public image. The Head will also engage with stakeholders, monitor media coverage, and support the planning of events and campaigns to promote the Authority’s goals and initiatives. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Implement communication strategies that support ECMA’s visibility and reputation on a day-to-day basis. • Manage specific communication channels, ensuring they are effectively utilized for stakeholder engagement and information sharing. • Facilitate the prompt dissemination of information regarding ECMA services and announcements to all relevant stakeholders. • Execute initiatives that promote a positive public image and actively engage stakeholders. • Foster relationships with local and international media to enhance ECMA’s presence and respond to inquiries. • Monitor public sentiment and prepare strategies to address any negative publicity or misinformation swiftly. • Coordinate the creation of internal newsletters, bulletins, and other materials to keep staff and stakeholders informed. • Organize and support ECMA events and meetings, ensuring effective communication and engagement strategies are in place. • Facilitate press interactions and manage logistics for media events to ensure positive coverage. • Regularly analyze media coverage and stakeholder feedback to inform communication practices and strategies. • Oversee community engagement initiatives, aligning them with ECMA’s social responsibility goals. • Work closely with other departments to ensure communication aligns with organizational goals and promotes collaboration. • Qualification Requirements: • Master's Degree or Above in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, business Administration or a field related to the Job function from an Accredited or recognized learning institution • 7 years of relevant experience out of which 2 years in a management or equivalent position. • Behavioral Competencies/Attributes: • Management skills • Industry expertise • Financial management • Project management • Strategic thinking • Leadership • Problem-solving and decision-making • Communication • Interpersonal skills • Adaptability
