We are looking for a skilled and proactive IT Officer to manage our company’s technology infrastructure and ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who can handle everything from network administration to end-user support, while also contributing to strategic IT planning. You will be the go-to person for technical issues, ensuring that our staff remains productive and our data stays secure. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Infrastructure & Network Management • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), and firewalls. • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of all critical IT services. • Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connections. 2. User Support & Helpdesk • Serve as the first point of contact for all IT-related queries and troubleshooting (hardware, software, and peripherals). • Log, track, and resolve support tickets in a timely manner. • Set up and configure new workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for employees. 3. Security & Compliance • Implement and enforce IT security policies (antivirus, patch management, access controls). • Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery drills to ensure data integrity. • Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents immediately. 4. Systems Administration • Manage email systems (e.g., Microsoft 365/Google Workspace) and user accounts (creation, modification, deletion). • Oversee software licensing and update schedules. • Coordinate with external vendors for hardware procurement and maintenance contracts. 5. Strategic IT Planning • Assist in developing the IT budget and recommending upgrades or new technologies. • Document IT processes, configurations, and network diagrams. • Train staff on new systems, cybersecurity best practices, and software usage. REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Technical Skills: • Operating Systems: Expert knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and macOS; Linux is a plus. • Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and wireless networking. • Security: Experience with firewalls, endpoint protection, MFA, and data encryption. • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS (administration and basic troubleshooting). • Hardware: Ability to diagnose and repair desktops, servers, printers, and peripherals. • Backup & Recovery: Hands-on experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Acronis). • Scripting: Basic PowerShell or Bash scripting for automation is an advantage. Soft Skills: • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex issues quickly. • Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff clearly. • Time Management: Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and urgent requests. • Customer Service: Patience and empathy when dealing with end-user issues. • Team Collaboration: Willingness to work with other departments and external vendors.
