Job Title: Junior Logistics & Import/Export Officer Company: E-Ethio Credit System PLC Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary E-Ethio Credit System PLC is seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Junior Logistics & Import/Export Officer to support the company's logistics, import/export operations, banking coordination, and administrative functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth coordination with external stakeholders, government institutions, logistics service providers, and financial institutions while maintaining efficient internal administrative processes. Key Duties and Responsibilities 1. Logistics, Import & Export Coordination • Coordinate and follow up on import and export activities to ensure timely movement of goods and materials. • Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, shipping companies, transporters, and warehouse personnel to monitor shipment status. • Track shipments from origin to final destination and provide regular updates to management. • Prepare, review, organize, and maintain shipping and logistics documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, customs declarations, and related documents. • Monitor inventory movement and maintain accurate records of goods in transit and delivered items. • Assist in resolving shipment delays, discrepancies, and logistics-related issues. 2. Banking and Trade Facilitation • Coordinate with commercial banks regarding Letters of Credit (L/C), import permits, foreign currency applications, and other trade-related banking requirements. • Support the preparation and follow-up of trade finance documentation. • Work closely with the Finance Department to facilitate payments related to freight charges, customs duties, taxes, and service fees. • Maintain accurate records of banking and payment transactions related to import/export activities. 3. Liaison and External Relations • Serve as a liaison between the company and government offices, customs authorities, regulatory institutions, suppliers, and service providers. • Facilitate permits, licenses, approvals, and official documentation from relevant authorities. • Follow up on external communications and ensure timely completion of required processes. • Represent the company professionally during interactions with stakeholders and business partners. 4. Administrative and Office Support • Provide administrative support to department heads and assist with day-to-day office operations. • Prepare official letters, reports, and internal correspondence. • Maintain proper filing systems for logistics, administrative, and operational documents. 5. Reporting and Compliance • Prepare periodic logistics, liaison, and administrative reports. • Ensure compliance with company policies, import/export regulations, and administrative procedures. • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling company records and sensitive information. • Perform other duties assigned by management.
