Leapfrog Software Technology Africa , a leading Safaricom Legal Distributor , is looking for energetic, self-motivated, and performance-driven Freelance Merchant Deployment Officers to join our KAE Deployment Project . Job Summary The Freelance Merchant Deployment Officer will be responsible for identifying and onboarding businesses to the M-PESA merchant ecosystem , deploying interoperable QR codes, educating merchants on digital payment solutions, and building strong relationships with business owners and their staff. This is a field-based freelance opportunity suitable for individuals who are motivated by targets, enjoy interacting with businesses, and are interested in sales and digital payment solutions. Key Responsibilities • Identify and onboard payment merchants, including HORECA, pharmacies, boutiques, barber & hair salons, and other businesses . • Deploy ETS SWITCH interoperable QR codes at merchant locations. • Educate and train merchants on M-PESA open-loop payment collection solutions . • Support merchants in receiving payments through M-PESA interoperable QR . • Ensure merchant outlets meet the required M-PESA standards . • Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, managers, and merchant staff . • Deploy POSM (Point of Sale Materials) at designated merchant locations. • Conduct regular field visits and provide merchant support. • Achieve assigned onboarding and deployment targets. • Submit accurate and timely activity reports. • Maintain professional appearance and comply with the required dress code and grooming standards . Requirements • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field . • Previous experience in sales, field marketing, merchant acquisition, customer service, or business development is an advantage. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to approach and establish relationships with business owners. • Self-motivated and target-oriented. • Comfortable working independently in the field. • Ability to work under pressure and achieve assigned targets. • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism. • Experience with mobile money, digital payments, or M-PESA is an advantage.
