Main Responsibilities The Nurse will be responsible for ensuring implementation of Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood illness (IMNCI) among IDP and host community beneficiaries in the Qoloji Health Centre. S/he will: • Ensure the provision of quality IMNCI services for the under-five children including referral of emergencies • Support the Woreda in routine and accelerated immunization campaigns • Support the Screening of children for malnutrition with a clear referral path • Closely work with the community mobilizer by creating demand and providing health information messages Key activities areas will include: Program/Medical: • Responsible for providing consultation and treatment services to under 5 children with timely referral to the higher-level care in case of complications • Support in conducting needs assessment and reporting as may be needed • In consultation with the Project Health Officer, order/request drugs, medical supplies and equipment needed for the smooth running of the under-5 OPD. • Ensure accountability and safety for equipment, drugs and supplies for the department • Ensure that health care services for the under-5 children and other children align with the clinical practice and in line with the national guidelines and protocols • Support in conducting community health education sessions • Provide compassionate and respectful care for beneficiaries in the community • Demonstrate behavior that upholds the public trust in the service. • Participate in needs assessments in the supported Qoloji in cases of displacements or outbreaks Reporting • Compile monthly project activity reports and submit to the Project Health Officer. • Prepare a monthly report, including drug/consumables consumption and submit to Project Health Officer. • Ensure recordings and completeness of data related to MCH services at the HC • Participate to weekly/ monthly request and consumption follow up with the pharmacy • Contribute to outbreak surveillance in the health center and within the community • Carry out other tasks as may be assigned by the line manager This job description covers the main tasks that are anticipated. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary. Hierarchical & Functional links The Nurse will be based in any of the one supported health centre of Qoloji, Somalia region. S/he will be under the direct supervision of Project Health Officer based on Qoloji and will report to the Project Health officer.
