The Opportunity The People and Culture (P&C) Coordinator will play an important role in aligning human resources functions with program goals at the Program Area (PA) level. As a key enabler of program effectiveness, the coordinator will lead PA level end to end recruitment processes, support in workforce planning at the PA level, P&C service delivery, capacity development, and organizational culture initiatives that foster a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven environment. The role ensures compliance with Plan International policies, labor law, and donor standards, while supporting emergency and development programming needs. Key Responsibilities • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead end-to-end recruitment, ensure transparent, timely hiring aligned with policies, and deliver effective onboarding while maintaining strong candidate experience. • Learning & Performance: Support capacity development programs, track mandatory trainings, and facilitate the full performance management cycle. • Employee Relations & Wellbeing: Promote staff engagement and wellbeing initiatives, foster positive work relationships, and manage smooth onboarding and exit processes. • Contracts & HR Data Management: Maintain accurate staff records, manage contracts and benefits, and ensure compliance with HR systems and data protection standards. • Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, labour laws, and donor requirements; support audits and risk management processes. • Coordination & Representation: Collaborate across teams, contribute to reporting, and represent the program area in P&C coordination forums. Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures. • Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies; • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work. • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
