Job Summary The Procurement Manager (Local Procurement) will be responsible for leading the company's local procurement function, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of construction materials, finishing materials, equipment, and related supplies for the company's construction and real estate projects. The role requires a highly dependable professional with strong negotiation skills, extensive supplier networks, and proven experience in Ethiopia's local construction supply market. Key Responsibilities Procurement Planning and Sourcing • Develop and implement effective local procurement strategies. • Source construction materials, finishing materials, equipment, and related supplies from local vendors. • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable local suppliers. Supplier and Contract Management • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with local suppliers. • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery. • Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues. Procurement Operations • Manage the full local procurement cycle, from requisition to delivery. • Coordinate closely with project, engineering, finance, and warehouse teams. • Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials for ongoing construction projects. Compliance and Reporting • Comply with company policies & internal controls. Prepare reports, cost analyses, & supplier evaluations. Requirements Education • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Experience • Minimum of 7 years of relevant procurement experience , with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior procurement role . • Experience in local procurement within construction companies is mandatory. • Proven experience procuring construction materials, finishing materials, and related building products from the Ethiopian market is mandatory. • Experience supporting construction and real estate development projects is highly preferred. Skills and Competencies • Strong knowledge of Ethiopia's local construction materials market and supplier network. • Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ERP procurement system experience is an advantage. • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
