Job Description – Sales & Tinting Machine Operator Position: Sales & Tinting Machine Operator Department: Sales & Retail Operations Reports To: Showroom Manager Job Summary The Sales & Tinting Machine Operator is responsible for providing excellent customer service, promoting and selling Jotun paint products, accurately operating the paint tinting machine, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the showroom is clean, organized, and professionally presented. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Service • Welcome and assist customers professionally. • Recommend suitable Jotun paints, primers, fillers, and accessories based on customer needs. • Explain product features, color options, coverage, and application methods. • Prepare quotations and process sales transactions accurately. • Promote special offers and new products. • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers. • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally. Tinting Machine Operations • Operate the computerized Jotun tinting machine accurately and safely. • Prepare custom paint colors according to approved formulas. • Verify color accuracy before delivery. • Label tinted products correctly. • Clean and perform routine maintenance on the tinting machine. • Monitor colorant levels and report shortages. • Minimize paint wastage by following standard operating procedures. Inventory & Showroom • Receive, inspect, and organize stock. • Monitor inventory levels and report low stock. • Participate in stock counts. • Arrange products neatly and maintain attractive displays. • Keep the showroom, warehouse, and tinting area clean and organized. • Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices. Administration • Maintain accurate sales and tinting records. • Process invoices and receipts. • Support daily opening and closing procedures. • Follow company policies and operational procedures. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Experience in retail sales or paint sales is preferred. • Experience operating a paint tinting machine is an advantage. • Basic computer and numerical skills. • Good communication and customer service skills. Skills • Sales and negotiation skills. • Strong attention to detail. • Good organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team. • Professional attitude and willingness to learn. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand for extended periods. • Ability to lift paint containers up to 25 kg. • Good color vision to distinguish paint shades accurately. Health & Safety • Follow all workplace safety procedures. • Use appropriate personal protective equipment when required. • Handle paint products safely. • Report equipment faults or hazards immediately. • Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Performance Indicators Performance will be evaluated based on sales achievement, customer satisfaction, tinting accuracy, inventory control, product knowledge, punctuality, teamwork, adherence to safety procedures, and maintaining showroom standards. The employee is expected to perform all assigned duties with honesty, professionalism, and integrity while contributing to the overall success and reputation of the Jotun Paint Showroom.
