Role Overview The Senior Full Stack Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications across modern JavaScript-based technology stacks. The role involves developing robust frontend and backend systems, designing APIs and microservices, optimizing databases, and contributing to system architecture, cloud deployment, and application scalability. The position also requires close collaboration with DevOps, QA, UI/UX, and product teams to deliver reliable and production-ready digital solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable full stack web applications using modern frontend and backend frameworks and technologies • Develop and integrate secure, efficient, and well-documented RESTful APIs and backend services • Build responsive, user-friendly, and high-performance frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React • Design, manage, optimize, and maintain NoSQL and relational database systems for scalability, reliability, and performance • Implement secure authentication, authorization, session management, and data protection mechanisms • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, cloud infrastructure, and system monitoring • Participate in system architecture design, technical planning, and code review processes to ensure maintainability and best engineering practices • Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, API, and deployment-related issues across the full technology stack • Integrate and manage third-party services, APIs, and enterprise platforms such as payment gateways, messaging services, video conferencing systems, and caching solutions • Optimize application performance, scalability, availability, and reliability across development, staging, and production environments • Contribute to technical documentation, development standards, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the engineering team • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level developers Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s (BSc) or Master’s (MSc) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field • 4+ years of professional experience in full stack web application development using modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems, preferably MEAN Stack • Strong experience with Angular(10+) and backend with Node.js and Express.js • Hands-on experience with MongoDB and familiarity with relational databases as well. • Strong understanding of scalable system architecture, API design principles, microservices, and distributed systems concepts · Eperience in integrating payment methods in Ethiopia with Telebirr/Chappa is a plus. • Experience in integrating third party tools and SDK like zoom. • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, third-party APIs, and enterprise service integrations • Experience with Git-based version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms mailnly AWS and it’s services. • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage • Solid understanding of application security best practices, authentication protocols, and performance optimization techniques • Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills Additional Expectations • Ability to demonstrate previously deployed or production-level applications • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams • Ability to guide technical discussions and contribute to improving development standards • Strong problem-solving ability, ownership mindset, and commitment to high code quality
