Purpose of the Position The Shift Supervisor/Electrical Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and disciplined operation of Dodai’s battery charging facility. This role leads charging station technicians, ensures batteries are charged and dispatched according to operational requirements, maintains safety and quality standards, and supports continuous improvement of charging operations. This is a hands-on supervising role requiring strong operational oversight, people management, and a safety-first mindset. Key Responsibilities Operational & Charging Responsibilities • Supervise daily charging station operations to ensure safe and uninterrupted battery charging activities. • Plan and coordinate battery flow to maintain required inventory levels for swap stations. • Monitor charging schedules, battery turnaround time, and operational efficiency. • Ensure proper segregation and management of charged, uncharged, quarantined, and faulty batteries. • Verify charging equipment and station readiness before operations begin. • Ensure technicians follow charging SOPs and operational procedures consistently. • Review battery movement records, charging logs, and operational reports for accuracy. • Support troubleshooting of charging equipment and escalate technical issues when required. • Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely battery availability. • Drive continuous improvement in charging station workflow and efficiency. Team Leadership Responsibilities • Lead, supervise, and support Junior Battery Charging Technicians and station staff. • Assign daily tasks and manage technician schedules and shift coverage. • Provide on-the-job coaching and ensure staff understand operational expectations. • Maintain discipline, accountability, and strong team performance. • Conduct regular team briefings and communicate operational priorities. • Support onboarding and training of new charging station staff. Safety & Compliance Responsibilities • Ensure strict compliance with lithium battery handling procedures and all safety requirements. • Enforce proper PPE use and safe work practices at all times. • Monitor the facility for safety risks and ensure immediate corrective / containment actions. • Lead incident reporting and escalation for damaged batteries, overheating, or unsafe conditions. • Ensure emergency response procedures are understood and followed. • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free charging facility. • Participate in and support safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions. Reporting & Documentation • Prepare and maintain operational reports related to battery charging, inventory status, and incidents. • Track operational KPIs including charging throughput, downtime, safety events, and battery availability. • Escalate recurring operational or technical issues to management. • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements Minimum: Diploma / TVET / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field preferred. • 3 years of experience in operations, warehouse, charging facility, manufacturing, or technical supervision roles. • Prior experience supervising teams preferred. • Experience working with lithium batteries, energy systems, or technical operations is an advantage. • Strong understanding of workplace safety and operational discipline. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
