Hill Bottom Properties is seeking dedicated and technically competent Site Supervisors (Site Engineers) to lead field execution and supervision on our active construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be on the ground every day — supervising gang supervisors and labour, ensuring specifications are followed, checking material quality and quantities, enforcing safety standards, and making sure work progresses as planned. This is a role for Someone who is thorough, present, and takes quality personally. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervise all construction activities within the assigned area or discipline — ensuring work is executed to specification, drawing, and quality standard • Direct and manage Gang Supervisors and site labour on daily work assignments, productivity, and quality • Verify material deliveries to the Site Store — attend all major deliveries and confirm quantities and specifications before the Site Storekeeper signs the GRN • Monitor daily progress against the construction programme — report any delay or risk to the Project Manager immediately • Enforce all site safety rules — ensure all workers and visitors wear correct PPE at all times. Stop any unsafe activity immediately and report to the Project Manager • Maintain the daily site diary — record: work completed, manpower on site, materials used, equipment deployed, weather, and any incidents • Conduct daily quality checks at each stage of construction — identify and reject substandard work before it is covered up • Support the Project Manager in contractor supervision — ensure contractors work only on approved and instructed activities • Assist in the preparation of material requisitions — provide the Project Manager with accurate quantity requirements based on the programme • Participate in site meetings and provide accurate progress information to the Project Manager QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field • Minimum 3 years' experience in site supervision on construction projects in Ethiopia — residential construction experience strongly preferred • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities • Knowledge of Ethiopian construction materials, methods, and quality standards • Fluent Amharic — good working English preferred • Valid site safety awareness or first aid certification preferred
