The System Administrator & Information Technology Officer will be responsible for maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, administering servers and networks, supporting employees with technical issues, ensuring system security, and assisting with the deployment and maintenance of software and hardware. Key Responsibilities System Administration & Information Technology • Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers. • Monitor server performance, availability, and system health. • Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and security patches. • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. • Configure and maintain web servers, databases, and application servers. • Monitor backup systems and perform recovery testing. • Troubleshoot server, storage, and network issues. • Maintain virtualization environments where applicable. • Document infrastructure configurations and operational procedures. • • Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, printers, and network issues. • Install and configure desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and office equipment. • Manage company networks, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, and VPN access. • Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and network security devices. • Maintain antivirus, endpoint protection, and cybersecurity best practices. • Manage IT assets, software licenses, and inventory. • Support company email systems, collaboration tools, and productivity software. • Assist with deployment of new technologies and IT projects. • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security standards. • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT-related services. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • 1–2 years of experience in system administration, IT support, or infrastructure management. • Fresh graduates with strong technical skills, internships, certifications, or hands-on project experience are encouraged to apply. Technical Skills Experience or knowledge in the following areas is preferred: • Linux server administration (Ubuntu, Debian, or CentOS) • Windows Server administration • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) • Firewall and router configuration • Docker and container technologies • Web servers such as Nginx or Apache • Database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) • Backup and disaster recovery • Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V, or similar) • Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (advantage) • Basic scripting (Bash or Python) is an advantage • Git and version control concepts • Cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection Required Skills • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Professional communication in Amharic and English (spoken and written). • Ability to prioritize and resolve technical issues efficiently. • Strong documentation skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. • High level of integrity and attention to detail. • Willingness to learn new technologies.
