The organization is dedicated to promoting literacy and a lifelong love of reading among Ethiopian children. Our mission focuses on providing equitable access to books, creating literacy-centered learning environments, and building the capacity of educators, librarians, and communities. Volunteer Role: Summer Camp Facilitator Ethiopia Reads is currently seeking dedicated, energetic, and enthusiastic volunteers for our upcoming 6–8 week Summer Camp Program. The camp is designed to engage children during their school break through interactive, educational, and fun activities that promote learning, creativity, and personal growth. Who Can Apply? Passionate individuals who enjoy working with children. University students, educators, youth leaders, and recent graduates. Individuals with skills or interests in teaching, reading, arts, music, sports, games, storytelling, or child development. Key Responsibilities Tutor children and support their learning. Facilitate arts and crafts activities. Lead music, games, and sports sessions. Support storytelling and read-aloud sessions. Conduct book-making and creative writing activities. Assist with literacy games, alphabet and vocabulary activities. Lead educational activities such as coloring, puzzles, science experiments, and teamwork challenges. Support library activities, including reading circles and book discussions. Help create a safe, inclusive, engaging, and joyful learning environment for all children.
