Job description
R&D Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and finalization of financial reports, managing payroll and financial transactions, ensuring tax compliance, overseeing audit and internal control processes, and providing sound financial strategy and decision support to management. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, prior experience working in an accounting firm, and demonstrated leadership experience managing a team, and will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the organization’s financial operations. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare, review, and finalize accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Manage end-to-end payroll processing and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions. • Prepare tax documents (VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and other statutory filings) and work closely with tax professionals and authorities to meet all tax obligations and deadlines. • Lead audit and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to internal controls, company policies, and applicable financial regulations. • Prepare and organize supporting documentation for external audits and liaise with external auditors throughout the audit process. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing, reconciliation, and follow-up. • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records on a regular basis. • Monitor and stay up to date on changes in tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards, and advise management on their implications. • Provide financial analysis, strategic insights, and decision support to senior management to guide business planning. • Maintain and improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring efficient use of accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, Excel). • Ensure the confidentiality, accuracy, and proper safekeeping of all financial records and documentation. Qualifications and Requirements: • Education: BSc Degree in Accounting and Finance (required) • Experience: 4 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience preparing and finalizing financial reports, prior experience working in an accounting firm, • Skills: • o Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; • o strong knowledge of payroll management, accounts payable/receivable, tax document preparation, audit and compliance procedures, and financial strategy and decision support; • o strong analytical, organizational, and high attention to detail and integrity • Certifications/Licenses: • o Completion of an IFRS training • o Completion of tax rules and regulations training from a recognized tax center is required.
