We’re Hiring: HR & Administration Officer Company: YES Employment Type: Full-Time Are you an organized, detail driven HR professional with a strong grasp of Ethiopian labour law and a knack for seamless payroll processing? YES is seeking a disciplined HR & Administration Officer to take charge of our day-to day HR, benefits administration, staff relations, and payroll operations. Key Responsibilities 1. HR Administration & Compliance • Maintain and organize employee and client-employee personnel files, contracts, and HR documentation with high precision. • Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian Labour Proclamation No. 1156/2019 and related directives. • Prepare and manage employment contracts, amendments, warning/termination letters, and general correspondence. • Systematically track probation periods, contract renewals, leave balances, and statutory entitlements. • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding, including pension registration and tax ID setups. • Ensure timely regulatory filings (pension contributions, income tax declarations). 2. Payroll Processing • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for internal staff and client-assigned employees. • Calculate income tax, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions per Ethiopian tax law. • Prepare payroll reconciliation reports, resolve discrepancies promptly, and support audit processes. • Coordinate with Finance on payroll disbursements and bank letter preparation. 3. Benefits & Staff Administration • Administer medical/health insurance, life insurance, and allowance programs. • Manage relationships with insurance providers and third-party vendors (policy renewals, claims, enrollments). • Maintain up-to-date staff registers, organizational charts, and attendance/leave tracking. • Coordinate disciplinary and grievance procedures in strict adherence to legal standards. • Support performance evaluation cycles and manage staff welfare initiatives. Required Qualifications & Skills • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of handson experience in an HR administration or HR generalist role. • Legal Expertise: Solid working knowledge of Ethiopian Labour Proclamation No. 1156/2019 and related employment regulations. • Payroll & Benefits: Demonstrated experience in processing payroll (tax/pension calculations) and managing benefits programs. • Tech Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets .
