Position Details • Position: Senior Accountant – Payables • Location: Addis Ababa • Employment Type: Full-time • Salary: Attractive and negotiable based on experience and salary history • Application Deadline: August 24, 2026 Job Summary The Senior Accountant – Payables will manage and control accounts payable activities, ensuring proper documentation, accurate accounting records, timely supplier payments, account reconciliation, and compliance with finance and procurement procedures. The role requires strong understanding of financial reporting, business controls, and ERP/SAP-based accounting processes. The attached JD specifically emphasizes three-way matching of PO, GRN and invoices, vendor reconciliation, tax-related controls, and SAP activities. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end accounts payable transactions and verify supporting documents before payment. • Ensure proper PO, GRN, invoice, and other document matching and follow up on exceptions. • Reconcile vendor accounts, aging balances, GL and subsidiary ledgers and resolve discrepancies. • Monitor GRN, goods-in-transit and import-related account reconciliation. • Support tax documentation and ensure applicable tax liabilities are properly accounted for. • Process and control AP transactions through SAP/ERP systems. • Support month-end closing, financial reporting, audits, and AP performance reporting. • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Procurement, vendors, and other departments regarding payment issues. Requirements • BA Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a relevant field. • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years as a Senior Accountant or Senior Account Officer in a manufacturing industry. • Strong experience in accounts payable, financial reporting, reconciliation, and business controls. • Good understanding of P&L, general ledger, bookkeeping, journal entries, trial balance, and month-end reporting. • SAP experience is highly preferred. • Good Microsoft Excel and other MS Office skills. • Basic reading, writing, and speaking English is mandatory. • Manufacturing and multinational company experience is highly preferred. • Strong integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
