Job description
The Senior Technical Officer will support the Platform for Harmonized African Health Products Manufacturing (PHAHM) in strengthening therapeutic manufacturing across Africa. The role requires a Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology or related field and at least seven years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with over ten years of experience. Candidates must possess deep knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystems, including GMP compliance, regulatory systems, and commercialization pathways. They will conduct readiness assessments, deliver capacity‑building programmers, and facilitate alignment among manufacturers, national regulatory authorities, procurement agencies, and partner organizations. Strong communication skills are essential for presenting technical briefs to high‑level audiences, while experience in African public health environments is highly desirable. Fluency in at least one AU working language is mandatory, with additional languages considered an advantage.
