Job description
Responsibilities • Lead and oversee account balance control, reconciliation, and verification activities. • Ensure all balance sheet and relevant ledger accounts are accurately maintained and regularly reconciled. • Review account reconciliations and investigate unusual or outstanding balances. • Identify discrepancies, errors, and control weaknesses and ensure timely corrective action. • Establish and maintain effective account balance control procedures and guidelines. • Monitor aging and clearance of outstanding items and ensure appropriate follow-up. • Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Operations, and other relevant departments to resolve reconciliation issues. • Review journal entries and supporting documentation related to account adjustments. • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable financial reporting requirements. • Prepare regular account balance control reports and management summaries. • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. • Develop and monitor key control indicators and reconciliation performance metrics. • Lead and develop the account control team, including assigning responsibilities, reviewing performance, and providing coaching. • Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. • Recommend process improvements, automation, and controls to reduce errors and improve efficiency. • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails are maintained for all account balance adjustments and reconciliations.
