CHEF — JAPANESE CUISINE & BATCH PREPARATION Slurp Station Express — Addis Ababa Slurp Station Express is looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. We are looking for someone with professional restaurant experience, particularly in Japanese cuisine and high-volume food preparation. Requirements Previous professional experience working as a chef in a restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and Japanese cooking techniques Experience preparing noodles, Japanese sauces, marinades, dumplings, chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables, eggs and other Japanese-style dishes Experience with batch cooking and large-volume food preparation Ability to maintain consistent taste, texture, seasoning and portion size across batches Good understanding of food storage, refrigeration, reheating and kitchen hygiene Ability to follow standardized recipes and accurately measure ingredients Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen Good organization and preparation skills Ability to work as part of a professional kitchen team Willingness to test and improve recipes when required Main Responsibilities The chef will assist with: Daily preparation of noodle bases and Japanese-style dishes Batch preparation of chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients Preparation of sauces, marinades and seasonings Preparation of dumplings and other menu items Maintaining consistent quality throughout service Organizing daily mise en place Proper storage and labeling of prepared food Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food-safety standards Assisting with recipe testing and menu development Supporting the other kitchen staff during preparation and service Preferred Experience Experience with: Japanese restaurants Ramen or noodle restaurants Japanese/Korean cuisine High-volume kitchens Fast-casual restaurants Batch food preparation Recipe development Applicants with experience working in established restaurants or hotels are strongly encouraged to apply.
