To support our multi-sector operations and industrial growth, we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Senior Finance Manager . The successful candidate will lead our group financial strategy, consolidate multi-divisional accounting systems, and ensure financial control across all business units. Position Summary The CFO / Senior Finance Manager will provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership across all diverse business units (Construction, Manufacturing, Trade, Retail, and Digital Services). The role is responsible for group financial consolidation, establishing internal controls tailored to each sector, managing project and trade financing, and driving tax and regulatory compliance. This position requires a seasoned finance professional capable of managing the varying cash-flow cycles, cost structures, and accounting standards of a multi-disciplinary corporate portfolio. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Group Financial Consolidation • Develop and execute financial strategies that support both the capital-intensive divisions (construction, manufacturing) and the high-velocity divisions (import/export, retail, digital marketing). • Oversee the consolidation of financial statements across all business units, ensuring accurate divisional performance tracking. • Advise executive management and the Board of Directors on resource allocation, cash flow optimization, and investment priorities. • Conduct feasibility studies, investment analysis, and financial modeling for new business ventures and factory expansions. 2. Divisional Financial Control & Systems Management • Design, implement, and maintain internal control systems tailored to the operational realities of each business unit: • Construction: Contract costing, progress billing, subcontractor certifications, retention tracking, and mobilization advance management. • Manufacturing: Standard costing, overhead allocation, work-in-progress (WIP) tracking, and inventory valuation. • Import/Export & Retail: Landed cost calculation, inventory shrinkage controls, point-of-sale (POS) reconciliation, and retail cash management. • Digital Marketing: Service-billing systems and operational cost tracking. • Supervise the selection, implementation, and maintenance of an ERP system capable of managing multi-sector operations. • Ensure all consolidated and divisional financial reporting complies with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) (particularly IFRS 15 for construction contracts and IAS 2 for inventories). 3. Treasury, Working Capital & Trade Finance • Optimize working capital across the group, balancing the long-term cash requirements of construction and manufacturing with the short-term liquidity of retail and trading operations. • Manage import financing processes, including National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) forex regulations, LC applications, Cash Against Documents (CAD), and customs clearance valuation. • Secure and manage bank guarantees, performance bonds, credit lines, and project financing with local and international financial institutions. 4. Compliance, Taxation & Risk Management • Ensure group-wide compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and Customs duties) across different business sectors. • Coordinate consolidated external audits, tax declarations, and interactions with the Ministry of Revenues. • Identify and mitigate foreign exchange risks, supply chain disruptions, and operational risks across the divisions. 5. Team Leadership & Coordination • Lead, mentor, and build the capacity of the finance teams assigned to different business units. • Standardize financial reporting templates and deadlines across all divisions to ensure timely group reporting.
