Job Opportunity: Junior Logistics / Import & export Officer We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Junior Logistics / Import & export Officer to join our team. This role is a vital link between our company and our external partners, responsible for coordinating supply chain activities and managing institutional relationships. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between our operational needs and external entities, including banks, government regulatory bodies, and logistics partners. Key Responsibilities Logistics & Import/Export Coordination • Shipment Management: Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and transporters to track the status of shipments, ensuring timely arrival and delivery. • Documentation: Prepare, review, and organize shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, and Certificates of Origin. • Inventory & Tracking: Monitor goods in transit, maintain accurate logs, and provide status reports to management regarding cargo and inventory movement. Banking & Financial Liaison • Trade Finance: Coordinate directly with commercial banks to process Letters of Credit (L/C), bank permits, and other trade finance instruments. • Payment Facilitation: Work closely with the finance department to ensure all freight, duty payments, and bank charges are settled accurately and on time. Institutional Liaison & External Relations • Government & Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external government offices, customs authorities, and regulatory bodies. Facilitate the timely processing of permits, licenses, and official documentation. • Problem Solving: Act as a "go-to" person to troubleshoot administrative hurdles that arise with external partners, ensuring business operations remain uninterrupted. • External Communications: Represent the company professionally when dealing with third-party service providers, office landlords, or other institutional partners. Required Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. • Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in a logistics role in Import and export company. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word). • Familiarity with bank-related trade documentation and import/export processes. • Soft Skills: • Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Ability to navigate relationships with diverse stakeholders, from bank officials to logistics providers. • Communication: Fluency in both English and Amharic is essential for effective correspondence and on-the-ground coordination.oromiffa is a plus. Proactive Nature: A problem-solver who is comfortable working both in the office and visiting external sites/offices as required.
