Job Summary The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics and supply chain activities to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods. The role involves managing import operations, freight coordination, documentation, team supervision, supplier relationships, and continuous process improvement to support the company's operational and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Logistics Operations Management • Plan, organize, and oversee daily logistics and supply chain operations. • Ensure the efficient movement, storage, and delivery of goods while maintaining cost-effectiveness and service quality. • Monitor logistics performance and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Import and Freight Coordination • Manage and monitor all import activities from order placement to final delivery. • Coordinate sea freight and air freight shipments with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and customs agents. • Track shipment schedules and proactively address delays or disruptions. • Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs requirements, and company policies. Supplier and Stakeholder Coordination • Maintain effective communication and relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs brokers, and other logistics partners. • Coordinate with internal departments including Sales, Finance, Warehouse, and Procurement to ensure smooth operational flow. • Negotiate and follow up on logistics-related services when required. Documentation and Compliance • Prepare, review, and manage import and logistics documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates, and customs documents. • Ensure all logistics records and documentation are accurate, complete, and properly maintained. • Monitor compliance with transportation, import, and customs regulations. Team Leadership and Development • Supervise, mentor, and support logistics team members to achieve departmental objectives. • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback. • Train, onboard, and guide new employees on logistics procedures, systems, and best practices. • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement • Identify and resolve logistics issues related to transportation, customs clearance, documentation, and delivery schedules. • Investigate operational challenges and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions. • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Reporting and Monitoring • Prepare logistics reports and provide updates on shipment status, import activities, costs, and operational performance. • Monitor key logistics metrics and ensure targets are achieved. • Maintain visibility of inventory movement and shipment progress. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in logistics, import/export operations, or supply chain management. • Strong knowledge of import procedures, freight management, and customs documentation. • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems. • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
