POSITION: JUNIOR PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR Company: Miya Manufacturing Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Reports To: Production Manager 1. JOB PURPOSE To support the Production Manager in supervising daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies. 2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring daily production activities to achieve production targets. · Supervise production operators, assign work, and ensure efficient utilization of manpower. · Monitor production processes to ensure product quality and compliance with established specifications. · Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety requirements. · Monitor production efficiency, minimize waste, and report process deviations. · Ensure all employees comply with workplace safety regulations and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). · Record and monitor production output, machine downtime, material usage, and production losses. · Coordinate with the Maintenance team to report equipment breakdowns and follow up on corrective actions. · Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and housekeeping standards throughout the production area. · Assist in training and coaching production employees on operational procedures, quality standards, and safety practices. · Coordinate daily activities with the Quality Control, Warehouse, Procurement, and Maintenance departments to ensure smooth production flow. · Prepare and submit daily production reports, including productivity, quality issues, downtime, and operational challenges. · Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, reducing waste, and improving operational efficiency. · Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Manager. 3. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS · Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Management or a related field. · 1–2 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG production environment. Fresh graduates with strong academic performance are encouraged to apply. 4. REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES · Basic leadership and team supervision skills with good verbal and written communication skills. · Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and workplace health and safety requirements. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
