Job description

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, recording daily transactions, preparing financial reports, monitoring receivables and payables, supporting budgeting and cash-flow management, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements. Key Responsibilities • Record and maintain accurate daily financial transactions. • Prepare and maintain general ledger, journals, and supporting accounting documents. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Prepare invoices, receipts, payment requests, and vouchers. • Reconcile bank accounts and company cash balances regularly. • Monitor project-related income, expenses, and payments. • Prepare payroll and coordinate salary-related records and deductions. • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records. • Prepare tax calculations, declarations, and supporting documents in accordance with applicable requirements. • Assist with preparation and monitoring of company budgets and cash-flow forecasts. • Monitor outstanding customer payments and follow up on receivables. • Verify supporting documents before processing payments and expenses. • Assist management in financial analysis and decision-making. • Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, clients, and relevant government offices when required. • Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information. • Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and up to date. • Perform other finance-related duties assigned by management. Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field . • Relevant professional experience of minimum 2 years in accounting. • Experience in construction/project accounting is an advantage. • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software . • Knowledge of Ethiopian tax and financial regulations is an advantage. • Strong numerical and analytical skills. • Good communication and organizational skills. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
